Muncie Power Products, Inc. has released a new medium-duty power take-off (PTO) designed to fit Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. The A30 Series PTO is a 10-bolt, constant drive unit designed as a functional replacement to front, crankshaft-driven hydraulic pumps and it targets applications such as refuse trucks, cranes, snowplows and cement mixers, as well as other applications that require continuous duty cycles.

The new unit incorporates a rotatable pump flange with 30 positions designed to allow for optimal clearance and more flexibility in mounting. Flange adjustment does not disturb seals, the company said. It is available with three housing configurations and internal features include tapered roller bearings for longer service life, a larger output shaft diameter for increased durability and improved gear design for reduced noise.

The A30 PTO offers intermittent torque ratings of 205 to 400 lb. ft. (278 to 542 Nm) and is also available with the EX drive shaft extension which is designed to allow large gear or piston pumps to be direct mounted, eliminating the need for timely driveline installations, Muncie Power Products said.
