New mini excavator from Yanmar just 740mm wide

Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) has launched the SV10 mini excavator, a 1 tonne model measuring just 740mm wide, and described the 0 to 2 tonne segment as one of the fastest growing in the European market.

The new unit - which will be on show at both the Smopyc show in Zaragoza, Spain in mid-April and Samoter in Verona, Italy, in early May - is designed for construction and urban infrastructure work, rental and fleet operations, and municipal and landscaping applications.

Yanmar said the SV10 would compete in a part of the market that now accounts for 39% of the construction machinery market in unit terms, and which “continues to grow, driven by strong demand from construction and rental professionals.”

The machine has a small swing radius, combined with a 60° boom swing, to offer precise control and positioning in highly restricted areas, including indoor renovation and demolition, as well as urban works and environments where precision and minimal disruption are essential.

The SV10 is powered by a Yanmar 3TNV70 engine delivering 9.2kW of net power and has digging forces of 5.2kN (arm) and 7.6kN (bucket), alongside a maximum digging depth of 1,800mm.

A variable undercarriage allows operators to extend the width to 990mm for greater stability.

Yanmar said ease of operation had been central to the design of the machine; “Improved ergonomics, including repositioned side levers and intuitive controls, ensure a smooth and comfortable user experience, even for less experienced operators.

“This is particularly valuable in rental environments, where machines must be quickly understood and safely operated by users with varying skill levels.”

The SV10 has an operating weight of 1,055kg and transport weight of 1,180 kg.
