New Yanmar mini excavator designed to be ‘rock solid’

Yanmar CE has completed its new range of mini excavators in the 3.5-4.0t class with the launch of the SV39, a 3,670 – 3,885kg operating weight machine designed with “stability as its defining strength.”

The OEM said the excavator’s weight distribution and reinforced undercarriage had been optimised to ensure that the machine “stays rock solid, even under heavy loads or on uneven terrain.”

A short arm and cabin configuration delivers a claimed 20% greater lifting capacity compared to typical machines in the same weight class. An optional additional 160kg is available for working with attachments.

It is tiltrotator-ready in both direct and sandwich mount – to damp vibrations - for applications including trenching, grading and landscaping.

Power comes from a Stage V 3TNV88-ESBV2 Yanmar diesel engine, delivering 18.5 kW of net power at 2,200 rpm. The hydraulic system comprises dual variable displacement pumps (2 x 37.9 l/min) and a gear pump (26.7 l/min).

Bucket digging force is 32.8kN and arm forces are 20.8kN (short) and 18.9kN (long), while maximum digging depth is 3,520 mm, with maximum reach of up to 5,370 mm on the long arm version. Top travel speed is 4.5 km/hr.

The cab offers “intuitive” joystick controls, said Yanmar, with a fully adjustable seat and a 4.3-inch colour display.

Available in both canopy and cabin configurations, the SV39 can be fitted with either rubber or steel crawlers. Transport weight starts at 3,490 kg (canopy/rubber crawlers) and an overall width of 1,740 mm.
