Opra Acquires Majority Of Airem Energy
15 July 2020
Opra Turbines, manufacturer of advanced gas turbine based generator sets, said it will acquire a 94% interest in Airem Energy, a business division of AFG Holdings Inc.
AFG Holdings entered into a partnership with OPRA early last year and acted through Airem Energy as a reseller, packager and service provider for Opra in the Americas. The partnership with AFG Holdings has now ended as Airem is now an independent company under the Opra Group. AFG Holdings retains a minority interest in Airem Energy.
“Opra is further executing its growth and development strategy. Having worked together with the Airem team for over a year now and successfully selling the oil & gas package, we are confident in their ability,” said Juha van Riet, CEO OPRA Turbines. “This acquisition strengthens Opra’s presence in the Americas as it allows us to continue to grow this market with the already thriving Airem team. We will continue to localize packaging production and service offerings where our customers in the Americas will continue to enjoy the combined performance of our teams.”
“Being part of the Opra Group is an exciting opportunity for Airem to join a team taking an innovative approach to Driving the World’s Energy Transition,” said Rob Marchitello, CEO of Airem Energy. “We have had a truly unique partnership with Juha’s team and combining Airem’s experience with the proven Opra technology will allow the team to better serve our clients and enhance our presence in the America’s as well as accelerate the global platform.”
