Peterbilt EVs eligible for CARB HVIP vouchers

Peterbilt Motors Co. announced its lineup of electric vehicles are eligible for the California Air Resources Board (CARB) 2022 Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).

Part of California Climate Investments, HVIP is a statewide initiative that puts billions of cap-and-trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment particularly in disadvantaged communities. It has allowed many fleets in California to add electric vehicles such as Peterbilt’s EV models, to their fleets.

HVIP is set to re-open to voucher requests for standard HVIP funds at 10 a.m. Pacific on Wednesday, March 30. For fiscal year 2022, $196.6 million is available for standard HVIP voucher requests.

Vouchers available for Peterbilt electric vehicles include:

- Up to $150,000 for Model 579EV drayage applications.

- Up to $120,000 for Model 579EV non-drayage applications.

-  Up to $120,000 for Model 520EV refuse applications.

- Up to $85,000 for Model 220EV pickup and delivery applications.

- Up to $85,000 for Model 220EV regional haul applications.
