Power Briefing recap: week of Feb. 10

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re celebrating with a loved one or just treating yourself to some extra chocolate, we’ve got you covered with this week’s Power Briefing highlights. Here’s what you might have missed:

  • Hydrogen power units (HPUs) are making inroads on construction sites as an alternative to diesel generators. Companies like GeoPura are deploying these units across the UK.
  • Minnesota’s MVTA Connect is decarbonizing its microtransit program by deploying battery-electric buses. The agency selected the Karsan e-Jest to meet the specific demands of microtransit routes.
  • The regulatory landscape is shifting rapidly, and OEMs are trying to keep up. At an AEM conference panel, experts emphasized the need for flexibility in addressing emissions policies.
  • Daimler Truck’s Andreas Gorbach is calling for urgent action to support zero-emission trucking. He warns that without major investments in infrastructure and incentives, high costs and limited fueling options could stall adoption.

In other news, Revolt will showcase a series hybrid retrofit system for Class 8 trucks, FPT Industrial is entering the marine power market with its new EBS 37 EVO Pack and Cummins has acquired a hybrid retrofit solutions supplier.
