New sensor a solution for difficult environmental conditions

Rotational speed specialist Rheintacho, whose products include sensors, hand-held measuring devices, rotary encoders and switching devices, has extended its FE series.

With the FE pwm speed sensor the company said it is a solution for the most difficult environmental conditions. The compact sensor body has a total height of only 36.8mm with an insertion depth (for example into a motor housing) of 18.4mm.

The sensor housing is made of a resistant, proven brass alloy which, the company said, “offers high resistance to the usual fluids that occur in everyday hydraulic life.” The sensor body is sealed by means of an o-ring. The combination of o-ring and precisely manufactured metal housing guarantees long-term stability, Rheintacho said.

The company added that latest addition to this series offers an additional benefit: temperature detection is also integrated into the speed sensor. The interface is a Deutsch DT04 4-pin connector that is widely used in the hydraulic world.
