Schottel Names Alemanno Director Of New Italian Operation

German propulsion expert Schottel said it has expanded its strategic network in Southern Europe with the addition of a new subsidiary in Bozen, Italy.
Giorgio Alemanno has been appointed managing director of Schottel Italia, a position that will enable him to contribute his extensive market expertise and many years of sales experience in the shipping industry. Before joining Schottel, he was head of Sales for a supplier for propulsion solutions.
The company said has been successfully doing business on the Italian market for over 60 years. In fact, passenger shipping and tugboat sectors have reported increasing growth in new ship construction for several years now. On this basis, a new branch office is being set up to help intensify market development. This will particularly benefit customers from the prospering sub-segment of megayachts. Business operations were launched Oct. 1.
