Tribonex strengthens global market position

Supports growth of surface treatment technology in mobility, industrial and energy sectors

Tribonex AB, a supplier surface treatment technologies for friction and wear reduction, announced the addition of an equity partner, EIT InnoEnergy, a major investor in the sustainable energy innovations arena, with a significant participation also from First Venture Sweden AB, the main shareholder in Uppsala, Sweden–based Tribonex.

The company said the fresh capital injection comes at a strategic moment, as it has moved from process development to full scale industrialization and implementation of its Triboconditioning surface treatment for industrial and automotive applications.

In this next growth phase, Tribonex said it plans to expand the production capacity in-house and through production and developmental partners and to solidify the solution for gears used in electric and hybrid vehicle applications. Other applications include industrial components such as gears, bearings, hydraulic motors, pumps, compressors and machine tooling.

Tribonex offers surface treatments of mechanical parts for minimized friction and wear, based on a patented mechano-chemical technology.
