VDMA Engines And Systems Names New Chairman

Uwe Lauber, CEO of MAN Diesel & Turbo, will serve as chairman of the new executive board of the Engines and Systems department of the VDMA (German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association).
Axel Kettmann (ABB Turbo Systems) and Andreas Lippert (GE Jenbacher) have been named deputies. The executive board expressed two clear focuses for the future activities of the department: the energy transition in the maritime industry and the production of synthetic fuels with Power-to-X technologies.
“The industry already offers many of the necessary technologies and is just ready to discuss their employment and further development with the politics and the public,” Lauber said.
