In the U.S., it’s Thanksgiving week, and today is Black Friday. Take a break from shopping for bargains and see what you might have missed in this week’s Power Briefing:

  • Power Progress International spoke with BorgWarner about the decarbonization trends that are driving the company’s product portfolio. Specifically, the company spoke of its new LFP battery packs and DC fast charging stations.
  • Hydrogen is consistently being explored as an alternative power source for mobility. However, a recent Mission Hydrogen webinar revealed that when compared to battery electric (BE) vehicles and equipment, it faces some hurdles.
  • Many products were honored for their innovation at the 2024 Power Progress Summit. Aside from Engine of the Year and Engine Technology of the Year, Danfoss was recognized in the category of Electrification Technology of the Year.
  • Solinftec’s Solix robot coupled with AI data science assistant make for quite the autonomous crop monitoring solution. Solinftec recently announced the completion of a full season of tests using the robot/AI combo for autonomous spraying.

In other news, Power Progress recognizes colleague Neil Gerrard for his award-winning turn at the recent International Building Press (IBP) awards in London. The editor of sister publication Construction Briefing received a “highly commended” citation in part for a story Gerrard wrote about small nuclear reactors.
