The diesel engine and construction equipment manufacturer, with headquarters in Osaka, Japan, says all work at its local subsidiary, Yanmar RUS LLC, will cease “as soon as procedures are completed”.

According to the company, Yanmar RUS suspended the vast majority of its business activities in March 2022, due to the suspension of product supplies and payments, but was continuing with some customer service operations.

Having closely monitored the ongoing situation, Yanmar Group says it can no longer continue to conduct business in Russia and expects all operations to cease by April this year.

Russia is currently the subject of sanctions imposed by 30 countries, including Japan, following its invasion of Ukraine.
