Yanmar to show plug-in electric lineup at Bauma

In addition to showcasing traditional road construction, demolition, earthmoving and landscaping equipment, Yanmar Compact Equipment (Yanmar CE) will host a special zone in its booth at the Bauma international trade fair in Munich, Germany, for display and live demonstrations of its plug-in electric equipment lineup.

As part of its continued commitment to electrification, the company plans to present a number of all-electric additions to its range. Alongside the SV17e mini-excavator, which was unveiled in prototype form last fall, a team of all-new models and prototypes will be on display, furthering the company’s goal to offer a complete range of electric compact equipment.

The prototype version of the SV17e was announced in November 2021 as a 1.5- to 2-tonne class earthmover powered by an electric drive and 48-volt batteries with fast charging capability. It has since undergone a rigorous product testing regime, including field trials, to ensure its level of durability and reliability in design and engineering prior to its sales start, which it had previously indicated would begin at Bauma.

In addition to launching its latest product technologies, Yanmar CE will present a host of innovative machine attachments, product displays and demonstrations and more.

“BAUMA is the world’s largest construction trade show and a key date in the construction calendar. With thousands of visitors set to attend from all over the world, we thought it would be the perfect occasion to reaffirm our commitment to electrification and unveil a number of exclusive new plug-in products, as well as unveil our latest game-changing equipment technologies and complete attachment range,” said Damiano Violi, managing director, Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA. “It’s also a perfect opportunity to reconnect with our customers and show that we are focused on helping build their success.”
