Zapi Group, a provider of turnkey provider of electrification solutions, has purchased two new companies to extend its product portfolio.

First, the Italian company has acquired the majority of Stercom Power Solutions, a German manufacturer of ‘intelligent’ charging and energy storage systems. The investment will extend the market reach of Zapi Group in key sectors, such as high voltage onboard charging and storage systems.

The acquisition of Stercom Power Solutions represents an important milestone in our growth strategy and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to expanding our capabilities to better serve our customers,” said Giannino Zanichelli, founder and owner of Zapi Group.

Zapi Group has also acquired SMPC Technologies, a Canadian company specialising in delivery of power electronics. The move should help to expand the group’s range of charging solutions, while supporting deeper knowledge of such systems to help develop a series of next-gen products.

Zanichelli commented: “SMPC Technologies has developed outstanding modular power conversion platforms that align perfectly with our long-term vision for growth. Their technical depth, combined with our global brand, customer relationships, and go-to-market capabilities, creates a powerful platform for accelerating our impact.”

SMPC will be integrated into Delta-Q Technologies, a Zapi Group company based in Burnaby, Canada. The move should see geographic proximity and complementary expertise deliver improved collaboration, efficiency and speed to market.
