Heinzmann announced it has acquired U.K. company Giro Engineering Ltd., effective Jan. 6. No financial details were provided.

Giro Engineering specializes in the design and manufacture of single- and double-walled high-pressure fuel injection pipes for more than 1000 different types of engines. The product line includes the flagship Duoline sheathed fuel pipe, which is complemented with Giro’s visual leak indication fittings and liquid level alarm tank.

Giro will continue to operate as a stand-alone business from its office and production site in Southampton and remains a U.K. company, Heinzmann said.

Heinzmann is a longtime supplier of speed governing and fuel system technology for industrial combustion engines. Heinzmann said the addition of Giro will enable it to operate as a complete systems supplier and consolidate its position worldwide.

“Heinzmann continually pursues the strategy of supplying a comprehensive catalogue of high-quality systems to engine builders and MRO organizations,” said Markus Gromer, CEO of the Heinzmann Group. “This acquisition completes the range of components developed and manufactured in-house for our common rail systems.”
