France-based Mecalac offers a wide range of compact construction equipment for urban worksites, such as excavators, loaders, dumpers and backhoe loaders. It also offers a range of electric-powered, zero emission machines.

In March 2025 the Fayat Group first announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Mecalac Group. The Fayat Group has seven major business lines: civil works, foundations, building, energy and services, metal, pressure vessels, and road equipment. Its equipment brands include Bomag, Marini and Dynapac.

The Fayat Group said that Mecalac will retain its autonomy, like the Group’s other brands, offering its clients high-end technological solutions marketed under the Mecalac brand. Mecalac will collaborate with other Fayat Group entities to develop technologies of the future and its distribution network.

This acquisition is a fantastic opportunity for Fayat Group and its customers. Mecalac is a highly recognised brand and an innovative player in the urban construction equipment market,” stated Jean-Claude Fayat, President of Fayat Group.

“Mecalac will play a strategic role in our Group and we are committed to ensuring the development of its product range. We will be using its expertise and technologies to complement our existing ranges, so as to keep developing equipment that meets our clients’ specific needs, particularly on urban worksites.”

Mecalac sells machines around the world and, in addition to its headquarters in Annecy-le-Vieux, France, has subsidiaries in Germany, the UK and Turkey.
