Monarch Tractor opens European division

California-based electric tractor manufacturer Monarch Tractor has established a new European division, Monarch Tractor Europe NV.

The move follows the growth of US sales on the back of added dealer locations, which was followed by further dealer locations in Canada.

Monarch first introduced its MK-V electric tractor to the US market in 2022. The MK-V has been available in Europe since 2023.

With the start of operations in Europe, which has headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, the company will continue to look for OE technology licensing collaborations.

Stephane Jacobs has been appointed managing director of the team in Antwerp. Key targets will be development of market entry and growth strategies.

“This milestone reflects our long-term engagement to serve the European market with a portfolio of solutions fulfilling the requirements of European farmers,” said Jacobs.

“Enthusiastic feedback from visitors from our booth at EIMA (Bologna, Italy]) and Vinitech-Sifel (Bordeaux, France) confirms that we are on a promising path.”

The company is currently continuing beta tests of fully-autonomous systems across several agricultural markets.

Since the 2024 growing season, Monarch MK-V tractors are reported to have amassed nearly 67,000 hours of use. This is estimated to have saved farmers about $1 million in fuel costs and removed 2,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.
