ChinaTrucks.com has reported that Chery has unveiled a new heavy truck platform which features a series of technologies ‘designed to set a new benchmark in the industry’.

The unveiling took place at the 2025 Partner Conference, held at Chery headquarters in Wuhu, Anhui province.

The trucks were unveiled under the C&C Truck brand, the medium- and heavy-duty truck division formed by Chery and CIMC. Other Chery commercial vehicle brands include Karry light commercials and Wanda Bus.

C&C Truck already holds more than 100 patents on key assemblies and parts used across truck production.

The new platform can be expected to support a series of ‘new energy’ solutions. To support this, the design offers a lightweight construction for improved efficiency.

It will further support production of variants using pure electric (with rapid AC charging capability) and range-extender powertrains, with duty cycles ranging from urban delivery through to port logistics and distance routes.

According to the report, electric heavy-duty trucks already comprise 12% of the national truck market.

The range will also include CNG and diesel fuel models, using engines supplied by Cummins and using Eaton transmissions. The efficiency of these powertrains is said to offer operators considerable savings.

Primarily known as a passenger vehicle OEM, Chery has been expanding its presence in Europe. Production of the Ebro S700 SUV with partner EV Motors (which owns the Ebro brand) started in Barcelona, Spain in November 2024.

The Chinese company is also reported to be considering construction of its own plant in Europe, or purchasing an existing facility. The company currently has 10 assembly plants outside China.
