Arctic Cat, a manufacturer of snowmobiles, ATVs and side-by-sides, today announced that Argo Xtreme Terrain Vehicles (XTVs), an amphibious off-road vehicle specialist, will join the Arctic Cat family. The announcement builds on the April 24, 2025, acquisition of Arctic Cat by an undisclosed investor group led by Brad Darling, president and CEO of Argo. Terms we not disclosed.
Since then, the Arctic Cat and Argo teams have reportedly worked together to evaluate the best long-term strategy for both brands, their dealers and their customers.
The alignment comes as the powersports industry continues to navigate shifting economic conditions, global supply challenges and evolving trade policies. said Arctic Cat. After 18 months of collaboration, the path forward is clear: Arctic Cat and Argo will align operations to strengthen product availability, enhance dealer support and create new opportunities across North American and international markets.
“Arctic Cat is ready and excited to welcome the Argo XTV lineup of amphibious vehicles to the family,” said Darling, who is also president and CEO of Arctic Cat. “This unique line of off-road products complements Arctic Cat’s strong lineup of snowmobiles, ATVs and side-by-sides, while expanding the solutions we can offer to dealers and customers who rely on capable vehicles for work, recreation and adventure.”

Argo XTV production at the company’s Canadian facility will continue to support Canadian and international markets. Argo unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) have experienced significant growth over the past year and will continue to be produced in Canada for the worldwide market, said Arctic Cat, supporting additional hiring and investment in Canadian operations.
To better serve Argo dealers and customers in the United States, and to meet growing demand for Argo vehicles, all U.S.-market models are expected to be manufactured and assembled at Arctic Cat’s Thief River Falls, Minn., facility beginning later this year.
Argo service parts will transition to Arctic Cat’s North American distribution center in Bucyrus, Ohio, helping ensure timely support for dealers and customers across the worldwide network.
In addition to increased product availability, Arctic Cat and Argo XTV dealer partners will benefit from the support of one organization, with streamlined processes, coordinated communication and a shared commitment to supporting the full dealer and customer experience.
After a 17-year tenure at Arctic Cat, Darling assumed the role of CEO and president of Argo in 2016. He was appointed to the same position at Arctic Cat in 2025 upon his return and following the acquisition of the company from Textron Specialized Vehicles.
