Bonfiglioli to show CVTCorp transmissions

27 February 2019

CVTCorp, a developer of mechanical continuously variable transmissions (mCVTs) for high-powered off-highway vehicles, said its partner Bonfiglioli, a global manufacturer of a range of drive systems, will show the new ECGenius powered by CVTCORP continuously variable transmission during Bauma. The transmission will be on the Bonfiglioli stand in Hall A3.337.

ECGenius is the result of a licensing agreement between CVTCorp and Bonfiglioli for certain vehicles in the construction equipment sector. Included in the agreement is the production transfer of the ECGenius150 for five specific vehicles and the CVTCorp current sales pipeline with commercialization volume anticipated at the beginning of 2020.

ECGenius powered by CVTCorp, is a mCVT system dedicated to telehandler vehicles but is also suitable for other equipment, said CVTCorp.

The company said the technology will allow manufacturers to reduce engine size while delivering ease of operation and a 20% to 30% improvement in a vehicle’s overall performance. The transmission control unit algorithm uses engine and transmission data to ensure maximum vehicle efficiency and overall system optimization.

Quebec, Canada-based CVTCorp said it is in advanced discussions with several strategic partners to roll out the mCVT technology in construction equipment machinery and farm tractors in the agriculture market.
