Danfoss to open its largest Chinese production facility

Danfoss, the Danish multinational engineering group, announced the inauguration of its largest global production facility in China. Spanning 126,000 sq. meters, the Haiyan Second Campus more than doubles the company’s presence in the region.

“China is a crucial market for our global success. We trust in the Chinese market, and the new campus demonstrates our commitment and confidence in China’s green future,” said Kim Fausing, president and CEO of Danfoss, in his keynote address during the inauguration ceremony. “Through state-of-the-art innovation and production facilities, we are contributing to China’s high-quality, low-carbon transition alongside our Chinese partners.”

The new campus integrates manufacturing for all three Danfoss business segments and two Application Development Centers (ADCs) serving its Power Solutions and Climate Solutions businesses. These facilities, which are built to the same standards as in Europe and the United States, develop and deliver technologies – including drives, commercial compressors, quick-disconnect connectors, hydraulic pumps, motors and valves and heat exchangers – designed to help decarbonize China’s buildings, transportation and energy sectors.

“The new campus is a strategic leap forward that enhances our ability to deliver advanced energy-efficient solutions, enabling our Chinese customers to decarbonize and grow at scale,” said Arthur Xu, president of Danfoss China.

Danfoss has operated in China for 30 years, including 20 years in Haiyan. It currently has 11 production sites, four innovation facilities and more than 5,000 employees in the country.
