14 September 2018

Deutz is progressing fast on its path to electrification and announced a week fully dedicated to this topic to be held in its Cologne, Germany, Innovation Center from 15 to 21 September 2018. The event, called Electrip week, will host customers, investors, media, and representatives from politics. Diesel Progress will take part as well and report to its readers.

The purpose of the event is for guest to experience the evolution of fully electric and hybrid drive systems with fully functioning prototypes.
Michael Wellenzohn, member of the Deutz AG Board of Management responsible for Sales, Service & Marketing, said about the event: “We will be offering live action on land and on water in Cologne under the banner ‘Get electrified!’. We are looking forward to presenting our progress in the electrification of our off-highway business at this major event.”

Deutz launched its E-Deutz strategy that complements its low-emission combustion engines with electric and hybrid drive systems after the acquisition of Torqeedo GmbH in 2017. The Germany- based company is a systems solutions specialist in integrated electric and hybrid motors for boats.
