03 September 2025
EAO, a specialist in human-machine interface (HMI) system solutions, has expanded its Series 09 rugged product family to include the CAN-based HMI functions of a rotary cursor controller and a rotary pushbutton. According to the company, the new offerings allow for modern system integration and reliable operation and navigation in harsh ambient conditions in construction, agricultural, commercial vehicle and other applications.

The new Series 09 Rotary Cursor Controller (RCC) and Rotary Pushbutton (RPB) modules combine rotary control and pushbutton functions, with the RCC also featuring a digital joystick, suitable for simple and efficient navigation within a display or in a user menu. The required functions can be selected directly using the integrated push function of the control unit.
The digital joystick capability of the RCC operates through a three-axis tilt mechanism. The tilt function in the X / Y direction has been designed with integrated protection against unintentional contact and triggering for safe operation even under difficult operating conditions. The robust, ergonomic design is sealed up to IP6K9K protection.
Programmable symbol and 4-segment RGB halo ring illumination allows for maximum brightness and modern function feedback.
The two additional pushbuttons are designed to enhance the RCC and RPB functionality, and can be customized with individual HALO ring and symbol illumination, and application-specific symbols, depending on the product variant.
The Rotary Cursor Controllers are available in Super and Plus variants, developed and manufactured to the IATF 16949 automotive standard.
