Himoinsa establishes subsidiary in New Zealand

Company continues to consolidate its presence in Asia-Pacific region

Himoinsa, an international manufacturer of energy technology solutions, has opened a new subsidiary in New Zealand. Based in Auckland, the company said the operation will strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and bring the total number of subsidiaries worldwide to 16.

Part of Yanmar Energy Systems, Himoinsa operates in Asia through its production center in China and several sales offices. It operates via Himoinsa APAC, based in Singapore, and Himoinsa Australia, based in Sydney with offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The Auckland subsidiary now joins this structure, consolidating the company’s presence in New Zealand, where it has been active since 1999 through its distribution network. The move is expected to enable the company to develop new business opportunities and strengthen its proximity to and support for local customers.

“We have been present in New Zealand since 1999, and the launch of our own subsidiary enables us to take a further step in the development of this market,” said Marco Perillo, regional head of Himoinsa Asia Pacific. “We want to be closer to our customers, strengthen local support, and offer solutions tailored to the needs of each application. This expansion, together with our operations in China, Singapore and Australia, strengthens our ability to serve the Asia-Pacific markets.”

In its initial phase, the subsidiary will focus its activities on the sale of equipment to electrical contractors, end customers, agricultural businesses and companies in the solar and rental sectors. Its commercial development will also include pursuing opportunities in the Pacific Islands, expanding the scope of operations from New Zealand.

Grant Cooper will head the new subsidiary as general manager; he has nearly 30 years’ experience in the New Zealand market for the sale and hire of generator sets. His career has spanned technical, commercial and managerial roles, providing him with extensive knowledge of the local market and of customers’ needs across various applications.

“We understand the demands of the New Zealand market and the importance of having reliable equipment and local technical support,” said Cooper. “The new subsidiary will enable us to work directly with customers to identify the most suitable solution for each application, backed by a global manufacturer such as Himoinsa, which combines design, production and service.”

Energy solutions for key sectors

Himoinsa New Zealand will offer power generation solutions for main supply, backup and temporary generation applications in sectors such as hire, construction, agriculture, infrastructure, data centers, telecommunications and healthcare, as well as mining, industry, the solar market, events and audiovisual production.

The subsidiary will combine Himoinsa’s product portfolio and technological capabilities with local market knowledge to meet the requirements of each project. Proximity to customers and technical support will be cornerstones of its operations, strengthening relationships with rental companies, electrical contractors and end-users in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
