Himoinsa, the manufacturer of electricity generation equipment, announced it would open a subsidiary in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in the fourth quarter of this year. The subsidiary will be supported by nationwide sales and service coverage across South Africa, the company said, and will serve customers in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Himoinsa has been operating in Africa since the 1990s, with nearly twenty distributors throughout the continent, the company said. It has an existing subsidiary in Angola as well as a 25 MW power plant supporting the local utility, which has been operating since 2013. Himoinsa said it has hundreds of units in operation throughout the South African market for mining, construction, agricultural and telecommunication projects.

Himoinsa has been part of the Yanmar Group since 2015.
