Himoinsa To Unveil New Quiet Rental Gen-Set At MEE

Spanish power generation specialist Himoinsa said it will introduce a new Silent Plus generator set for rental applications at the upcoming Middle East Electricity show, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in mid-February.

The new HRFW-250 T5 gen-set is powered by a 8.7 L Cursor 9 engine by FPT Industrial and delivers 250 kVA at 1500 rpm prime power and 275 kVA standby. Himoinsa said the new unit offers a significantly reduced noise level of — 61 dB(A) ±2 at 7 m — partly through improved and more complex designs of the air intakes and air discharge. The gen-set also incorporates two exhaust silencers in the standard version as well as high-quality insulating materials, such as high-density, 100 mm thick rock wool. It utilizes mounting blocks specifically resized for the engine-alternator assembly and its dynamic characteristics, the company said.

Specially dedicated to the Middle East market, Himoinsa will also exhibit the HSW-650 T6/5 Dual Frequency gen-set, powered by a Scania DC 16 diesel engine. The gen-set is rated 806 kVA standby power at 60 Hz and 738 kVA at 50 Hz. According to Himoinsa, the dual frequency capability meets the versatility requirements of companies operating both in Saudi Arabia — a 60-Hz market — as well as other countries within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region that operate at 50-Hz.

Himoinsa said that the power generation market in the Middle East calls for better levels of performance optimization without limiting the performance of the machine. Customers often require units that can withstand extreme conditions, but also versatile and autonomous gen-sets that can operate in different markets, such as gen-sets that offer longer running time, extended maintenance intervals for fewer service trips and reduced noise emissions.
