Hybrid electrical connectors for mobile equipment

TE Connectivity’s new Ampseal 16 mini lever 16 and 24 position hybrid connectors for sealed applications in trucks, buses, construction and agriculture equipment, lift trucks, marine vessels and industrial vehicles.

In an effort to offer additional flexibility for bulkhead and pass-through applications, TE Connectivity (TE) announced the launch of new Ampseal 16 mini lever 16 and 24 position hybrid connectors for sealed applications. The wire-to-wire connectors, with an IP6K7/IP6K9K rating to protect against water and dust, provide vital environmental protection for industries operating in harsh environments such as truck, bus, construction, agriculture, lift truck, marine and industrial vehicle applications.

Key features of the Ampseal 16 mini lever 16 and 24 position hybrid connectors incorporate an ergonomic lever lock system, which provides ease of assembly, and an integrated Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) and Connector Position Assurance (CPA) that protects against accidental unlocking and confirms precise contact position. The connectors are also designed help to reduce application costs and assembly time with a tool-less mounting design and “drop and slide” mounting clips that are available in three sizes, the company said.

For wire bundling and corrugated tubing, 90° and 180° wire dress covers can also be purchased alongside the Ampseal 16 mini lever connectors enabling design flexibility. The connectors utilize Deutsch stamped and formed size 12- and 20-pin and socket terminals and AMPSEAL 16 heavy duty stamped and formed (HDSF) size 16-pin and socket terminals and are Mil Standard C-39029 approved, the company said.
