Kohler celebrates 150 years of past and future innovations

Premium Content

In 2023, Kohler Co. is celebrating 150 years of creating solutions for energy resilience (engines, generators and clean energy solutions), kitchen and bath spaces, hospitality and more. The global organization will celebrate the milestone with a series of special events and activities globally, including limited-edition product releases, commemorative apparel and digital content centered around the theme “Come All Creators” in celebration of past and looking ahead to future innovations.

Kohler partnered with American artist and innovator Daniel Arsham to conceive the commemorative 150th anniversary creative identity.

One of America’s oldest and largest privately held companies, Kohler was founded in 1873 by John Michael Kohler in the Village of Kohler, Wis., where the company continues to maintain its global headquarters. It is in its fourth generation of family leadership, with David Kohler, chair and CEO, only the ninth person to lead the organization. The company is comprised of more than 40,000 associates and over 50 manufacturing locations worldwide.

Throughout the year-long celebration, Kohler will pay homage to its heritage while looking ahead to the future, joined by valued partners, talented artists and explorers. To help bring this initiative to life, the company has partnered with American artist and innovator Daniel Arsham to conceive the commemorative 150th anniversary creative identity through logos and marks, typography and lettering.

Several 150th anniversary activities and events are planned at Kohler Experience Centers, its Signature Stores and at various trade shows and events in 2023, including at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023. The company is also planning celebrations with its associates – past and present – as well as a community-wide celebration in the Village of Kohler.
