KTR Systems GmbH has added a LightVersion to its existing OAC series of oil-air coolers for mobile machines. The compact, high-performance version was primarily developed for applications in mobile hydraulics, including hydraulic, gearbox, lubricating motor oils. It can also be retrofitted for water-glycol mixtures if thermal bottlenecks arise.

The OAC LightVersion is available in three sizes (500mm/410mm/300mm high) with cooling capacities from 2 to 15 kW and an oil flow rate from 5 to 165 lpm. With fan drives, the user can choose between a 230/400V motor with 50 or 60 Hz, a 12V/24V motor or a hydraulic motor.

The new cooler comes without feet and has only two fittings (G1/2” and G1/4”). This streamlined design saves weight as well as manufacturing effort and production costs, the company stated. It added that the cooling elements and housings are manufactured and assembled at KTR’s production plant in China, with only the fan drive needing to be assembled at its plant in Rheine, Germany.

“The OAC LightVersion is reduced to the essentials and thus cost-optimized in production, which allows us to offer the cooler at a price in line with market conditions,” said Hendrik Stroet, product manager for OAC coolers at KTR, adding, “We definitely did not save on the cooling capacity: the cooling elements remain unchanged.”

The entire series is designed for easy maintenance with optimal cleaning options.
