LiuGong India, a subsidiary of wheel loader manufacturer Guangxi LiuGong Machinery, recently marked its 15th year of business in India and the 10th anniversary of its plant in the country.

India’s first purchase of LiuGong construction equipment took place in 2002 and included 14 wheel loaders that were delivered to the iron ore mines at Goa. The company said the machines are still in operation and have performed more than 30,000 working hours.

Production at LiuGong’s plant in Pithampur began in 2008 on a 44-acre plot of land. The company has the ability to manufacture 3000 wheel loaders and motor graders annually. The machines that are manufactured at the Pithampur site include motor graders, wheel loaders, heavy-duty excavators, compactors and forklifts.

LiuGong’s business in India has expanded to include a research and development center, corporate offices in Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, 20 dealerships with more than 50 customer touch points across the country including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and spare parts warehousing in Chennai and Indore.
