Mercedes-Benz to provide 50 eActros LongHauls for Tevex Logistics

Mercedes-Benz will provide 50 eActros LongHaul electric trucks to Tevex Logistics after the Tönnies Group subsidiary signed a Letter of Intent to acquire the vehicles for its fleet.

This agreement comes one month after German logistics service provider Dachser also signed a Letter of Intent for 50 eActros LongHaul vehicles.

The battery-powered semitrailer tractors from Mercedes are designed for long-haul transport and have a range of 500 km. According to the manufacturer, the series will be ready for production in 2024.

“Tevex is a long-standing partner of Mercedes-Benz Trucks with a great innovative spirit,” said Stina Fagerman, head of marketing, sales and services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks. “We are delighted that the logistics company is planning to rely on the eActros LongHaul for particularly demanding, temperature-controlled food transport.”

Tevex said the order of eActros LongHaul trucks will help the company achieve its sustainability goals.

According to Mercedes, its engineers developed the eActros LongHaul vehicles to meet the same durability requirements as a comparable conventional heavy long-distance Actros, including the target of driving 1.2 million km on the road over a period of 10 years.

Inside the electric vehicles are batteries that use lithium-iron phosphate cell technology, which have a long service life and more usable energy. Three battery packs provide an installed total capacity of more than 600 kWh, and two electric motors generate a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output that exceeds 600 kW.

Mercedes said the batteries of the production eActros trucks can be charged from 20% to 80% in less than 30 minutes at a charging station with an output of 1 MW.
