New Cummins facility coming to Wisconsin
04 March 2021
A new Cummins facility will be coming to Platteville, Wis., as the city’s Common Council approved a lands sale for the construction of a facility that will be used for warehousing, light manufacturing and distribution facility.
As reported by the Telegraph Herald newspaper of Dubuque, Ia., the $20 million project is the largest in the history of the Platteville Industrial Park. The 342,000 sq. ft. facility, which will begin construction next month and is expected to be completed in March 2022, will support the nearby Cummins Emission Solutions manufacturing operation in Mineral Point, Wis.
“In Mineral Point, the work there continues to grow,” said Jon Mills, a Cummins spokesman. “We are building this facility to keep up with that growth and that demand.”
Cummins expects to employ 200 to 220 full-time personnel, consisting of existing Cummins employees, contracted staff and new hires. The company employs more than 1500 workers across Wisconsin.
