New ParLock Hoses

02 May 2019

Parker Hannifin has extended its hose range with the introduction of R50TC/R56TC ParLock multispiral hoses available with four or six spirals. High-pressure performance, flexibility and long service life are the key attributes of the new hoses and fittings, the company said.

ParLock, is the high performance skive system, developed for safety critical and very heavy-duty applications and for customers or applications requesting the implementation of multispiral hose assemblies with external/internal skive type fittings. These include heavy-duty mobile applications such as larger construction and agricultural machines.

As the trend in terms for high application pressures grows, the goal of Parker Hannifin’s R50TC/R56TC development was to concentrate on very high pressure for strong dynamic applications up to 56.0 MPa working pressure and to provide a marked performance increase in applications, such as hydrostatic drives and general very high pressure hydraulic lines. Along with the high internal strain exerted on such hose assemblies, they are also frequently subjected to high external mechanical forces caused through their suspended installation and movement in normal use. Such forces can act upon the hose fittings and the hose/fitting transition zone. To prevent the fittings from tearing off, Parker said its R50TC/R56TC hoses are constructed with the Parker Tough Cover (TC) to mitigate this problem. Hose types with TC offer a high hose-to-hose as well as hose-to-object abrasion resistance, the company said.

ParLock R50TC/R56TC offer a tight bend radii not greater than the R15 hose specification. In addition, they are tested to one million cycles at 120 % working pressure. The range has also been approved with 8000 psi flanges in straight, 45° and 90° configuration.
