Nproxx unveils two new H2 storage cylinder models
02 January 2025

Dutch company Nproxx has introduced two new high-pressure hydrogen storage systems, the AH620-70 and AH710-70.
The new hydrogen storage tanks can store either gaseous or liquid hydrogen at up to 700 bar. They can be used in a variety of applications, including heavy-duty transport and stationary energy storage.
Made from a composite material and using a plastic liner, the Type 4 tanks can be used in combination with H2 internal combustion engines and fuel cell powertrains.
The AH710-70 has a diameter of 69.85 cm (27.5 inches) and a length of 245.3 cm (96.6 inches). It can hold up to 22.2 kg of H2. The smaller AH620-70 can hold 12.4 kg.
Fitted with four AH710-70 tanks it is anticipated a heavy-duty truck would have a range of about 965 km (600 miles).
Both tank types have a neck-mounted valve system. Refuelling a four-tank system should take about 15 minutes.
In 2020, Nproxx and Cummins announced the formation of a joint-venture to develop H2 storage tanks. It is possible the new tanks will be offered as part of solutions developed by Accelera by Cummins.
