Ural Turbine Works Upgrading Two Turbines
22 January 2019
Ural Turbine Works (ROTEC Group) has entered into an agreement with TER LLC, the general contractor of the project, for the upgrade of two turbines at Avtovskaya CHP, TGC-1 PJSC.
Under the contract, UTW will manufacture turbine sets (including high and low pressure cylinders, heaters) for T-100 and T-95 turbines. The deadline for the improvements is June 2020.
The upgrade will increase the power of each turbine up to 123 MW. The units will feature modern control systems to ensure robustness and high flexibility of the equipment. In general, this will have a positive effect on the electric power and heat supply of industrial enterprises, residential and public buildings of Admiralteysky, Moskovsky, Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky districts of St. Petersburg. About one million people live in the coverage area of the plant.
TGC-1 PJSC is rolling out a large-scale investment program in the regions of its reach. In 2012, Ural Turbine Works already carried out a partial upgrade of T-100 steam turbine flow section.
“The upgrade of T-100 turbines is a sequential, well-developed project for us. It will provide customers with efficient and robust equipment at low cost. Per 1 kW of power, the upgrade costs are about twice lower than those for new unit construction,” said Igor Sorochan, CEO of UTW.
