Vanguard shows battery packs, engines at Equip Expo
17 October 2024
Attendees at the 2024 Equip Expo in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 15-18, will find the latest commercial engine and battery pack technology from Vanguard in the Briggs & Stratton indoor and outdoor booths.
The company offers battery packs in fixed and swappable configurations and in 1.5-, 3.5-, 5- and 7-kWh power options. To highlight the capabilities, equipment powered by the 1.5-kWh commercial battery pack (Si1.5) is being shown in the indoor booth. The Si1.5 has a standard charge time of 75 minutes and the ability to swap in freshly charged batteries, reducing the range anxiety often associated with battery-powered equipment, Vanguard said.
In the outdoor booth are ride-on mowers powered by two Vanguard Fixed Series battery packs, including the 3.5-kWh battery (Fi3.5), which comes in 24V and 48V configurations, and the 7-kWh commercial battery pack, which comes in a long configuration suited for golf and recreation applications, and a tall configuration targeted to new opportunities in turf applications.
Vanguard is also highlighting its MVG Series of motors and MC Series of motor controllers, which include different power options to meet voltage needs across various landscaping equipment sizes. The MVG1500, MVG2200, MVG3000 and MVG4000 motors and MC2000, MC4000 and MC8000 motor controllers are being shown in the Briggs & Stratton booth.
In addition, Briggs & Stratton is highlighting its commercial engine technologies, including the 27-gross-hp engine from the CXi Series V-twin engine lineup. Engineered for high-debris applications, the CXi Series offers the option to add on the Oil Xtend system, which allows up to 250 hours between maintenance intervals for oil changes and replacing oil filters, spark plugs, fuel filters and air filters.
Also featured is the new Vanguard 300 single-cylinder horizontal shaft engine, which is rated 307cc and 10.0 gross hp and is suited for applications such as leaf vacuums and blowers. It features extended maintenance intervals, improved cold-weather starting, TransportGuard and Cyclonic Air Filtration.
