Waukesha Bearings, a designer and manufacturer of engineered hydrodynamic bearings and magnetic bearing systems, is expanding its Antigo, Wisconsin, USA manufacturing facility.

The new construction is a nearly 35 000 sq. ft. extension of the current building at 703 Amron Ave and will accommodate current production for marine bearing systems as well as new marine projects awarded to the company by General Dynamics Electric Boat of Groton, Connecticut. The Waukesha Bearings partnership with Electric Boat and the U.S. Navy goes back more than 50 years and includes bearing systems for both the surface fleet and submarines.

“Waukesha Bearings made its name with high-quality bearing solutions. Our system knowledge, custom engineering, and precision manufacturing make us a trusted supplier for mission-critical projects,” said John Sullivan, plant manager for the Antigo facility. “Our team here in Antigo takes great pride in the product we produce, and we are thrilled to be expanding our capacity.”

Founded in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1946, Waukesha Bearings has been part of the Antigo community for the last 45 years. The bearings manufactured in Antigo are used in turbomachinery across the world’s oil & gas, power generation, marine and industrial markets.

Once the expansion is complete, the Antigo facility will have nearly 100,000 square feet of space. The Antigo manufacturing facility is supported by engineers in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Pawcatuck, Connecticut. To serve its global customer base, Waukesha Bearings also has facilities in the United Kingdom, China and Mexico.
