UK-based manufacturer of concrete mixers Winget is celebrating 115 years in business this year.

Founded in 1908 by British engineer John Faulder Burn, the company has produced a number of different products in that time, including its Tilting Drum Mixer, part of its range of concrete mixers, as well as tracked and site dumpers.

According to the company, in recent years it has changed its approach and halted production of site dumpers in 2022 to focus on its core area of mixers and “energy saving initiatives.”

As part of this focus, earlier this year it launched the 100Te, an electric version of its diesel powered 100T Site Mixer.

With a single phase 110V electric motor and mixed batch outup of 100L, Winget says the unit is useful in areas where noise reduction is a factor or in indoor areas where “diesel engines would be too noisy and exhaust emissions are not acceptable.”

The company says the launch of the mixer followed “demand from contractors working in low emission zones and urban sites where use of diesel equipment is restricted.”

Elsewhere, the company has also launched its 150Te and 175Te versions, which it says is “gaining in popularity in markets such as Northern Ireland” through its dealer in the country Peden Power
