Zoomlion says new 9DX is most powerful tractor in the world

Zoomlion has unveiled its new 9DX hybrid tractor at the 2026 China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition in Tianjin.

With peak output of 1,600 hp (1,193 kW), the new introduction is described as being the most powerful tractor in the world. A hybrid continuously variable transmission and 800 V dual motor system deliver peak torque of 7,200 Nm.

Unveiled in mid-2025, the Zoomlion DX7004 tractor has a maximum power output of around 1,200 hp.

Zoomlion has not yet released other details covering the diesel-electric hybrid powertrain. It is assumed that the dual motor system is split between drive power and power take-off, but this is unconfirmed.

The tractor uses four track drives with 762 mm wide tracks. This helps to reduce soil compaction. Maximum speed is 40 km/h. The cab features a fully independent suspension system.

A hydraulic flow rate of 636 liters/min can support a wide range of attachments, including wide seeders, large tillage equipment and variable-rate fertilizer applicators.

Many of the core components and control systems were developed in-house by Zoomlion. At the trade fair, Zoomlion also displayed a series of other advanced machines and implements, with software platforms and smart hardware intended to work together in agricultural operations.
