Komatsu is to present its all-new WA700 wheel loader at the upcoming Bauma trade fair. The event will be held 7-13 April in Munich, Germany.

The WA700 brings together more than a century of quarrying and mining expertise to deliver what Komatsu says are ‘unparalleled levels of safety, productivity, durability and environmental credentials’.

“I’m very excited to introduce our WA700-8 in Europe, which offers a perfect match with our 60-tonne rigid dump truck,” said Jo Monsieur, deputy general manager for Product Marketing at Komatsu Europe.

“Without any doubt, it will excite any operator with its performance, large cabin and wealth of safety features. After more than a decade of development, this reinvented giant is now fully ready to claim its place in quarries across Europe and beyond.”

The WA700-8 features a 578 kW engine from Komatsu. Delivering more power and torque, the powertrain further incorporates a new high-efficiency cooling system. The engine is EU Stage 5 compliant and supports both B20 biodiesel and HVO fuels, the latter making it carbon neutral.

A new hydraulic system reduces losses to support fast cycle times and improved fuel efficiency.

Inside the cabin, a new joystick steering system and electronic pilot control levels deliver precision and ease of operation.

There are also a series of automated features, including automatic digging system, semi-automatic approach and semi-auto dump systems. All can help to simplify repetitive tasks while supporting less experience operators.

The WA700-8 also support ease of maintenance and serviceability. Maintenance-free batteries reduce downtime, while a centralised service area offers sampling and quick fill ports for accurate fluid handling.

At Bauma, the WA700-8 and other Komatsu machines will be operating in a live demo area outside Hall C6.
