Recycling company agrees to ‘biggest ever’ JCB electric equipment order

JCB in the United Kingdom has received an equipment order worth millions from multinational company European Metal Recycling (EMR), securing its biggest ever deal for electric machines in the country.

EMR operates almost 125 locations globally and with its subsidiaries dismantles and recycles everything from vehicles, cargo ships and “aircraft carriers to cans”, household electrical goods and C&D waste into reusable products. In the UK alone, the global operator handles over eight million tonnes of construction, demolition, metal and plastic waste every year.
According to JCB, EMR purchased 50 of electric telescopic forklifts, in a deal worth more than £3 million (US$3.8 million)
The order comprises the zero-emissions JCB 30-19E and 35-22E Teletruck models, which feature a telescopic boom and offer maximum lifting height of 4 m (13 ft). While the 35-22E boasts a lifting capacity of 3.5 t, the 30-19E model can lift up to 3 t.
The models are part of the manufacturer’s new generation of E-Tech machines, both models can operate for a full eight-hour shift on a single charge and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
They were purchased as part of a fleet replacement programme and will be distributed across EMR’s 60 sites in the UK by local equipment dealer Gunn JCB.
