Bucher Hydraulics offers intelligent electrified power unit

Premium Content

Bucher Hydraulics is offering the Smart PowerPack S (SPP S), a compact, intelligent electrified power unit that can provide power on demand to operate a range of equipment across multiple applications. Its auto-recognition technology allows a machine to be plugged into the power unit and the operating parameters and user interface will adjust accordingly.

“With components such as a proprietary brushless motor, intelligent hydraulic sense package, and Bucher’s digital controller package, this power unit is continually reading and adapting to the conditions to provide power when it’s needed,” said David Stevenson, vice president of product management and marketing at Bucher Hydraulics.

The SPP S is equipped with an electronically variable pressure-balanced hydraulic pump, a single power input connection and an integrated negative bypass control cartridge valve. The system has an operating flow range of 0.6 to 3.8 gpm and operating pressure range of 250 psi (17.2 bar) to 3300 psi (230 bar).

According to Bucher, the power range enables the SPP S to operate machinery from a simple log splitter to a small to mid-sized backhoe and anything in between. Its power coupled with the integration of CAN communication allows for better control and precision as well as makes system feedback more accessible.

The SPP S offers zero emissions and quiet operation, making it suited for use in areas where low noise pollution is required.
