‘Centennial Grey’ machines to celebrate Cat’s 100th anniversary

Caterpillar has launched a series of Limited Edition machines to celebrate the company’s 100-year centenary.

Most significantly, the machines are painted in ‘Centennial Grey’. Where Cat machines are now known for their yellow paint, the grey was the original colour of the brand.

The models offered in anniversary grey livery will further feature special badging to denote 100 years, which includes a commemorative plaque.

The Caterpillar brand was formed in 1925 when Holt Manufacturing Company and CL Best Tractor merged to form the Caterpillar Tractor Company. The merger provided the backing for development of new diesel technologies which went on to feature across the machine range.

“Few companies are fortunate enough to make it to this point, and we know how we got here. It’s because of our history of innovation and the exceptional collaborations we’ve had with our dealers and customers over the past ten decades,” said Tony Fassino, group president, Caterpillar Construction Industries.

The models are available in all global regions, including North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, although specific model availability could be limited.

The range of machines to be offered with the centenary paint finish include: compact, small and medium wheel loaders; backhoe loaders; skid steer loaders; compact track loaders; small- and medium-size track loaders; mini, small, medium and large excavators; and motor graders.

Centennial Edition machines will also feature across a series of celebration and trade events.
