Designed for demanding vehicle and equipment environments, Series 09 products are suited for commercial vehicle manufacturers, off-highway and construction equipment, agricultural machinery, specialty vehicles and a range of industrial mobile equipment OEM applications. Typical applications include vehicle operator controls, cabin control panels, HMI, auxiliary function switching and rugged keypad and control systems for harsh operating environments.

The enhanced Design-In Kits feature application-focused content, improved organization and presentation and tools that EAO said can help streamline the design-in and prototyping process by making evaluation easier and more intuitive. To further support successful implementation, the company provides Quick Guides and training materials and other resources to assist customers throughout the evaluation, integration and deployment process.

Marine applications

EAO also announced the recent expansion of its Series 09 Rugged Keypads for the marine industry. The keypads are engineered to perform in harsh marine environments while providing operators with clear visual feedback, responsive tactile feedback and intuitive control of critical onboard functions. Their flexible design allows OEMs to configure them to meet the specific needs of each vessel.

The keypads can be used to control a range of onboard functions, including navigation and running lights, bilge pumps, water management systems, horns, anchor and windlass controls, deck and cockpit lighting, auxiliary power systems, and other multi-function helm controls. Illuminated controls improve visibility during nighttime and low-light operation, while programmable multi-function buttons allow multiple vessel functions to be consolidated into a single interface.

Other key features include rugged CAN-based keypad architecture; six- and eight-pushbutton Basic and Super configurations; flexible mounting options; protection ratings up to IP6K9K; and customizable legends, symbols and branding options.
