Feds Looking For A Few Good Gen-Sets

Premium Content

06 November 2019

The U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) office has released a request for proposal (RFP) for generator set packages.

FEMA maintains a fleet of about 700 gen-sets to support emergency response operations.  The agency issued an RFP for gen-sets to address shortfalls within its fleet due to the lifecycle of gen-set packages and to meet EPA Tier 4 Final compliance.

The generator requirement is set up as an IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) which gives FEMA the ability to place future orders for generators of various types and sizes. It is currently soliciting RFPs for 400 kW and below non-paralleling units and and 401 kW up to 1 MW paralleling sets.

Proposals are due no later than 10 a.m. EST, Nov. 29.
