IMC Logistics orders 50 Tesla Semi trucks
13 October 2026
Intermodal drayage specialist IMC Logistics has reported an order for 50 new Tesla Semi battery-electric heavy-duty trucks.
The order covers standard range models for operations within California, while long range models will be used to move freight to inland destinations.

There was no specific breakdown in the order numbers covering truck models.
This is not the first order of ‘alternative fuel’ trucks by IMC. The company has been operating a fleet of Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks, even after the OEM went out of business.
“We are focused on making sustainability attainable in day-to-day drayage operations,” said Jim Gillis, IMC’s Pacific Region president.
“That means taking a blended approach rather than relying on a single technology.”
Founded in 1982, IMC Logistics has its headquarters in Collierville, Tennessee. The company says it has more than 2,500 driver nationwide.
Tesla launched full production of the Semi in September this year at its plant in Sparks, Nevada. The plant is said to have annual capacity to produce up to 50,000 trucks.
