JLG completes update of SkyTrak telehandlers

JLG Industries has launched the redesigned SkyTrak 10042, 10054 and 12054 telehandlers for the North American market.

The launch completes the updating of the SkyTrak range and includes the use of new control technology, an upgraded cab, and several optional safety features.

The handlers are designed for lifting heavy pallets, staging materials, steel erection and handling large equipment. The 10042 model has a 10,000lb capacity and 42ft 1in lift height and 26ft 9in forward reach, while the 10054 has the same capacity but lift height and forward reach increase to 53ft 2in and 38ft 10in, respectively.

The 12054 has the same reach and height as the 10054 but with 12,000lb capacity.

New features include a control system with updated diagnostics and expanded functions, including optional Load Stability Indication (LSI) and Seatbelt Engagement and Operator Presence (SEAOP) technology.

The cab has been upgraded, with more information shown to the operator on a larger LCD display and improved single-page load charts. The use of flat glass panels simplifies glass replacement.

The machines use an electric-over-hydraulic joystick with integrated auxiliary hydraulic functions and attachment tilt controls.

Auxiliary hydraulic connections have been relocated to the side of the boom head, making it easier to change attachments.

JLG’s ClearSky Smart Fleet two-way communications platform comes standard on the new models.

Optional new features

Optional new features include a multi-view reverse camera system with left, right and rear views displayed on a single monitor; a reverse sensing system with audible in-cab alerts; and a white noise backup alarm for directional sound notification.

All three are powered by a Tier 4 Final Cummins F3.8 110-hp diesel engine and a 4-speed Powershift transmission. The transmission uses SmartShift technology to automatically shift between third and fourth gears.
