Komatsu Europe launches new mobile jaw crusher
17 May 2021
Komatsu Europe has launched a new mobile jaw crusher that offers net-zero CO2 emissions.
Described by the manufacturer as “the cleanest mobile crusher in the market”, the BR380JG-3 is fitted with a Stage V compliant Komatsu engine and comes with a CO2 off-setting scheme.
Vince Porteous, product manager at Komatsu Europe, said: “The new BR380JG-3 is Komatsu’s first diesel powered machine in Europe with Net Zero CO2 emissions.”
“Komatsu believes that solving Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues are key to the future. By combining Komatsu technology with the assistance of biology, we, as a manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, and as a member of society, can deliver on our commitment to our customers and to the planet”.
The successor to the BR380JG-1 model, Komatsu’s new 35.3 t machine has a maximum crushing capacity of 240 t/hr and is designed for high volume crushing.
Its 1,050 mm (41 in) wide main conveyor offers a top speed of 120 m/min and can deposit material stock piles of 37 t before needing to be moved.
Unlike its predecessor, the BR380JG-3 comes with Komatsu’s standard radio remote control and a new one-touch start and stop function for quick and simple operation.
It also features a semi-automatic feeding system that includes automatic feed control with crusher overload detection for improved production.
When it comes to technology, Komatsu has equipped the crusher with a high-resolution display panel. It provides users with access to real time machine information, fuel consumption data and ECO guidance and is available in 27 languages.
The BR380JG-3 also comes with the Komtrax telematics system. It uses 4G mobile communication to provide reports on the machine’s status, fuel and AdBlue usage and the health and maintenance status of its engine’s aftertreatment system.
When it comes to safety, Komatsu has designed the machine with new guard rails, a foldable maintenance access step, a secondary engine shutdown switch and a battery disconnection switch.
Komatsu said the model, which was launched to coincide with this year’s international Earth Day, is available with an optional side muck conveyor and magnetic separator for added versatility.
