Liebherr launches new 305t dumper

Liebherr's new T274 rigid hauler Liebherr’s new T274 rigid hauler offers 4,500 kW/6,035 HP dynamic braking power for efficient downhill hauls.

Liebherr has expanded its range of rigid dumper trucks with the launch of a new 305 tonne capacity model.

Described as a “true 305 tonne machine”, the T274 features a 2,720kW (3,650hp) engine and the Litronic Plus AC Drive system for fast cycle times.

According to Liebherr, the Tier 4 compliant vehicle offers users high production rates, low fuel consumption and a low cost per tonne.

With a top speed of 53km/h and a gross vehicle weight of 528 tonnes, the new T274 was introduced to fill the gap between Liebherr’s T284 and T264 truck models.

It is fitted with “mining-optimised components” that have been specifically developed and manufactured by Liebherr.

The German manufacturer, which also has complete control over the supply of its components, said, “This new truck follows the same base design as the T284, benefitting from its decades of field experience. Operators and technicians can expect to experience first-class comfort and safety while driving and servicing this truck.”

To cater to the increasing demand for low emission machines in the mining and quarrying sectors, Liebherr has also made its Trolley Assist System available as an optional extra with the model.

The system allows the truck’s electric drive to be connected to an electrical network via an overhead pantograph, which allows users to increase the productivity level of their truck fleet.

Alternatively, the Trolley Assist System can also be used to maintain yearly production while reducing the fleet size.

Liebherr said, “The main advantage is the significant reduction of diesel fuel consumption and truck fleet CO₂ emissions. Liebherr delivers proven field experience with 38 T284 units fitted with the Trolley Assist System already in operation on two different sites.”

Alongside the T274 the manufacturer is offering a number of packages for customers using machinery in specific applications, such as low temperature and high-altitude environments.

A sound attenuation package that reduces the noise emissions of the vehicle is also available to customers who need to operate their machinery at night or in urban locations.
