MacDon Opens Parts Distribution Warehouse

MacDon Industries Ltd. has opened its new Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The building has 98,700 sq.ft. of warehouse space.

“Our goal is to provide world class parts services for all owners of MacDon manufactured equipment wherever they are located in the world.  The new PDC is the key to serving our MacDon parts distribution network in Canada, United States, Australia, Europe, Russia, and Brazil, allowing us to achieve this goal,” said Jason Klassen, vice president of Global Parts Operations, MacDon, Winnipeg.

According to MacDon, the new PDC has incorporated many advanced building designs and innovative warehouse processes, including:

  • 40 ft. clear height warehouse
  • Space utilization, efficiency is maximized with narrow aisles using wire-guided fork lift equipment
  • 3.95 million cu.ft. of shelving
  • Full implementation of integrated warehouse management system for inventory management

“Ultimately our goal is to deliver MacDon performance parts to our dealers and customers quickly and efficiently. When a farmer is down during harvest, there is no time to waste,” said Ray Derksen, manager of Parts Logistics and Distribution, MacDon. “In the short time we have been in our new facility, we have already seen significant improvements and we are just getting started.”

MacDon Industries has manufactured harvesting equipment such as self-propelled windrowers for more than 65 years.
